...with Kerry Drager

I love helping people strengthen their skills, develop their creative vision and boost their passion for photography. And there’s no better place for doing so than the Central Coast of California! Just consider the wonderful array of subjects: sweeping scenics, intimate seascapes, coastal close-ups and Moonstone Beach

In this personalized workshop, you’ll visit some of my favorite locations while I share my shooting thoughts, tips and strategies. Then, in my nearby home office/studio, you’ll receive an on-target evaluation of your photography via constructive critiques, encouraging feedback and suggestions for improvement. We’ll also discuss my own camera-to-computer workflow that leads to a finished photograph. (Note: My work does not include heavy-duty Photoshop or creative filter use, but I will cover my typical easy-to-use processing of a Raw image.)

Whether you’re a beginner or advanced shooter, the workshop will be tailored to meet your individual interests and needs.

Possible locales include the coastline of Cambria, Cayucos, San Simeon and Morro Bay. Field trips, however, will be planned for the best light. Specific locations also will be dependent on the weather, tide, time of year, and other factors.

How does the day shape up?

We’ll start out at a coastal locale, where we’ll shoot, analyze and discuss. Midday will mostly take place in the classroom. The workshop’s major shooting session begins in late afternoon and extends through twilight. Note: A heavy-overcast day will likely mean re-arranging the schedule – i.e., field work in midday with the classroom session switched to late afternoon and evening.

Lodging, food & transportation to/from workshop?

This is all the responsibility of the student. During the workshop, however, Kerry will provide transportation to the various photo locales.
